Why I love to go help at Twilight – a guest post from volunteer Katarina

I am a regular volunteer at the SPA Limoges, and for about the past, I think, 3 or 4 years, I also help Twilight from time to time. I was wondering what it is that I love so much about going there. In my ‘normal life’ I work as a healer and animal communicator, so that is what I can do from a distance. But going there is really special to me. When I leave, I am always happy and maybe a bit smelly, but definitely happy. Last time we had a helpers day, I was cleaning windows. One of the comments said most often by our lovely team coach Leeanne is: “It doesn’t need to be perfect.” It is funny, of course it doesn’t, but it is such a relief to hear that. You do your best. And that is always enough. It is not that you wouldn’t know that anyway, but helping at Twilight does make that profound knowledge. Whereas at home, you might be hard on yourself about why you didn’t do this or you didn’t do that. Well, not there. It is more the opposite. I just did my windows. Yes, none of it is perfect. And I am happy, and it makes me think of those lovely people, Leeanne and Mike, who are so courageous every day of the year. And looking forward to the next karma yoga day at Twilight, where I don’t have to be perfect.
