Munchies

The Pudding Pack eat over 350 kg of dog food a month, which works out at around over €5000 per year. After vets bills it’s our largest expense. We sometimes have dogs with special diets, requiring food for delicate tums or medical conditions which is more expensive. Any donations of dog food (croquettes) or some tins of meat are always welcome. “We will eat anything” is the dogs’ chorus. €16 or £15 would feed the team for a day.

There’s also a sponsorship programme on our Facebook fundraising page through which supporters can sponsor an individual dog or a group ‘huggle’ of dogs, for any amount, monthly or yearly, every penny really does count.

Cleaning

Twilight uses disinfectant by the bucket load. The house is cleaned thoroughly every day, sometimes more than once, using litres of lemon disinfectant and bleach. We can buy five litres of basic Javel (bleach) for 97 cents or smell nice with a two litre bottle of Ajax Citrus for €2.75. We get through, on average, two litres of bleach a day. And, if you go back to the UK or visit France in a car, the dogs love Zoflora! It’s our favourite all-round cleaner, safe for the dogs and smells nice, too. Other everyday items used in great quantity are bin liners, antibacterial cloths and kitchen wipes, kitchen roll and baby wipes.

Bedding, duvets, pillows, towels

Twilight always need old towels and bedding – the dogs can make use of most things: old curtains, duvets, pillows, cushions, sheets, sleeping bags, towels, even tea towels and flannels have a use.

Bric-a-brac and brocante

If you’re clearing clutter why not donate your posh junk! Leeanne and the team do several vide greniers during the year, so all your unwanted bits and bobs may be just the treasure someone is looking for. Bric-a-brac is stored at Twilight and La Charrue, or can be dropped at one of the collection points.

Any brand-new items, unwanted gifts, an odd bottle or two, or just a lovely present that you don’t have a use for, the fundraising team are always on the lookout for quality items for tombola prizes.

Small change

And finally, don’t forget your Brown Stuff … save your one, two and five cent coins. Don’t weigh down your purse – put them in a tin or box and drop them off at one of our events or the collection points. We use the supermarket change-sorter machines to turn these into vouchers for dog food and cleaning materials shopping.

Drop off your donations

You can bring your donations to any of our events held throughout the year. Check the What’s On page for the latest news, deliver to Twilight (strictly by appointment), or at one of drop-off points. Please give them a call or drop them an email first, just to make sure there will be someone available to accept your donation.
