Twilight News: fundraising, fundraising and more fundraising

Apologies, Team Twilight have been missing-in-action. We’ve been very remiss at keeping our web-based supporters up-to-date. Since our last post we have been busy with online auctions and fundraising on Facebook (that really is the best place to follow us!), plus we held a real-life Fayre to celebrate Twilight’s Fifteenth Anniversary year at the salle de fete in Saint Paul la Roche at the beginning of June.

Here are a few highlights …

Our amazing 15th birthday celebrations were held on June 3rd in our local salle de fete.  On the day, we raised just short of €3,000. It’s lots of work for our small band of volunteers, but everyone pulled together to produce a wonderful day. There was delicious food, ranging from drinks and snacks to a full-blown cooked lunch, plus cake … lots of cake. We had a craft stall, Twilight merch, lots of books, cds, and dvds, a mini vide grenier and an ‘everyone’s a winner’ tombola. Our Grand Raffle draw took place in the afternoon. The winners of the 21 fantastic prizes were delighted with their winnings which ranged from a weekend for two to a special commission portrait of your furry friend, plus lots of human and animal treats.

Our friends from Hope Association joined us on our special day, too. It was so kind to come all that way, and then to make us such a special donation. We  always say we couldn’t do what we do without the financial help we are given from those associations that dedicate their energy to raising funds for animals. But really the help from Hope is quite exceptional and the donation for our birthday was mightily substantial. From Mike and Leeanne, and each and every Pudding, we thank you Hope 16 and Hope 79 with all our love.

Everyone enjoyed the Puds visits to the Fayre ~ especially the Puds themselves. Thank you to Anne-Marie and Tony for running their taxi service and looking after them on the  day.

Music makes the world go round and so it was at the Twilight Anniversary Fayre. We started the day with some fabulous background music from Steve the music man. Then the afternoon was lulled with the delicious sounds of the Limoges Quartet, thank you so much for their generous donation of time and skills. We ended the day with Phil the sax man.

We will be able to continue into our 16th year with confidence. How blessed are we that you trust in our small effort to make Puds’ lives better. Thank you to each and every volunteer and to all the supporting customers that come back again and again.

Our next big fundraiser takes place down in the south of France, department 11, Aude in the village of Rivel. Team Twilight South are holding a Summer Market including a fun dog show. Do go along to support them if you are able to.
