It is with the heaviest heart I have to share with you the passing of our dearest William.
We knew it was coming, but none the less, it still feels a shock. As his Auntie V said, he is a literal “giant” hole to fill.
5 years he and Snowy have been with us. His Auntie Hazel aptly said, a 5 years that have passed so quickly.
When Les Amis des Animaux rescued these poor Patous, as Sandy and Mike reminded me, they were both so weak and traumatised….unable to stand and had to be wheelbarrowed to their kennel. So frail they were afraid they might break.
Lynn of Les Amis beautifully writes that William was a spirit of goodness and kindness on 4 legs, despite blindness and a dreadful dreadful start.
Here at Twilight we thank them for their confidence in us to take them both and continue their rehabilitation into a pack life and being able to be themselves.
William has had the most precious life here. But Love him, his last day, he couldn’t get up without a cry and then couldn’t hold himself, he didn’t want to eat as normal and his breathing had become an issue. Sadly he soiled himself in both ways whilst laying. He was so proud, this wasn’t a way for him to continue….although he would have, as he was here to care for us all. There was no question from the vet. He passed so peacefully in my arms, probably the quickest passing I have experienced.
Our amazing team have all loved him so much. Thank you for loving him, stepping over him , and allowing him to nuzzle you in places only special friends go!
It is a very sad day.
We will always love you dearest William, you have thé love and light of us all with you always.
Miss you big man xxxx
