Lord

Little Lord, one of our Ukrainians, was only four when he arrived in 2022, but he had a disfigured front right leg and paw. The paw was open, so eventually it was amputated. Subsequently Lord was selected as an ideal candidate for a prosthetic leg – and he did enjoy racing around the garden on four legs for a while. But, sadly, the prosthesis was rejected by his body and his remaining leg became infected. We had a difficult decision, to amputate his leg to the shoulder, making Lord a true tri-paw. He never looked back and seems just as happy on three legs as on three-and-a half or four.

This lad has just been through so much and is so very special. Everyone who meets him can feel his amazing energy. He has done so well here at Twilight, but maybe it was time to let him have his own family. So now Lord has become a Twilight Outreach Pud.

Letting him go was going to hurt, to be honest …. So, a compromise was the way forward we thought. Our volunteers Joanne and Romain had long fallen for him, and with moving to a wonderful new country house they had the perfect environment for Lord. They also latterly took Plume, so he has company.

We have tried it, and it has worked beautifully. Lord looks so happy. He comes here twice a week and rekindles with his chums, but between times he has the most loving mum and dad and constant human companionship.

What a journey Lord. My goodness you are so loved.
